of the Designation Challenge Fund
CIRT is evaluating
the Resource/DCMS Designation Challenge Fund. This work involves
the evaluation of the three-year 15m Fund, established to support
the development of designated collections in non-national museums.
CIRT is analysing questionnaires submitted by all projects and examining
previous evaluation reports produced for the Fund. The final report
will make recommendations for future management of DCF projects
and, more specifically, for future evaluation of DCF awards.

A sense of
place
The project
aims to widen access to materials of local cultural heritage and
promote learning opportunities. The initiative stems from a consortium
of seven partners in the West Midlands, each digitising local collections.
CIRT is conducting evaluation of the initiative at consortium level
in addition to advising individual projects on their own formative
evaluation.
