Copyright and licensing for digital preservation

The aim of this research is to investigate whether copyright legislation
and licensed access to digital content threaten the ability of libraries to
provide long-term access to that content and to suggest ways in which the
problems can be overcome.

Electronic Books: Children's Reading Practices and Comprehension

The project aims to investigate children's reading skills and experiences in relation to electronic story books. It will investigate whether the medium of presentation (printed or electronic) affects children's reading. A variety of electronic formats will be studied.

Information and Communication in National Liberation Struggles: Fieldwork in Namibia.

An investigation of information-related activities of participants in a national liberation struggle, using Namibia as representative case. Fieldwork will consist of interviews and focus groups covering transmission of messages, technologies employed, intelligence work, propaganda, Suppression of information, etc.
