Information
needs of people with multiple sclerosis (MS)
This research
took place in 2002 and involved a survey of 103 people via focus
groups, 2030 via returned questionnaires and 5 people using audio
diaries. It was commissioned and funded by the MS Trust. Categories
of information need were identified (both health related and general
life information). Important and difficult to find information was
highlighted. The need to provide information in a way that is related
to the users physical and psychological condition was recommended.
Finally although information provision by service providers has
improved dramatically over the last ten years there was seen to
be a need for improvement both in terms of subjects covered and
consistency of provision.
