Presenting
and Interpreting Health Risks and Benefits: The Role of the Internet
This work examines
how patients manage information accessed via different media (including
the Internet) to assess the health risks and benefits of specific
pharmaceutical interventions and to negotiate with health care professionals
regarding treatment. From this basis the research will question
how far Internet inequalities mirror health inequalities in terms
of patterns of social exclusion/ inclusion.

use of libraries and other information sources: patterns and future
trends
The purpose
of the study was to provide evidence on how researchers currently
use libraries and information sources and how this may change in
the next decade. The results are being used to inform policy aroundnational

The key aim
of the study is to examine the professional and public acceptability
of Electronic Patient Records (EPRs) in maternity services. The
project is in two parts � a national survey and a series of case
studies.
