Becoming
a member of the LIRG Committee
Nominations closed on 15 March 2004
The Committee
is responsible for organising events, administering the LIRG prizes
and awards, overseeing the production of the Group's newsletter
(LIRN), and pursuing activities which will further LIRG's aims.
It meets
three times per year (March, June/July, November/December).
Much of the
business is handled between meetings via an electronic mailing list
for committee members. We encourage active participation from our
members and we welcome nominations each February for the Committee.
The LIRG Committee
consists of not more than 13 elected members plus 6 co-opted members.
Nominations
need to be signed by the candidate and proposed and seconded by
other LIRG members. You must be a personal member of the Group in
order to stand for election. Those interested in becoming committee
members may wish to discuss what is involved with the Chair or Vice-Chair.
The Group pays
travelling expenses within the UK to attend the meetings if these
cannot be reclaimed from elsewhere.
The Group has
the following Officers who are elected for a two year term from
the Committee:
- Chair
- Vice-Chair
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- LIRN Editor
- LIRN Reviews
Editor
- Awards and
Prizes Officer
- Publicity
and Marketing Officer
