The Daphne
Clark Prize award is for excellence in practitioner based library
and information research. The Prize is named after Daphne Clark,
a founder member of LIRG and Chair of the Group when she died in
1983, who actively promoted excellence in library and information
research through her own work.
The Elsevier/LIRG
Research Award is to encourage research and innovation in library
and information science. Particular attention will be paid to proposals
intended to improve the accessibility, retrievability and usefulness
of information.
The Library
and Information Research Group invites nominations each year for
the LIRG Student Prize for a postgraduate
project. Each Department of Library and Information Studies is encouraged
to nominate one of their students' projects for each category.
The closing date for nominations for the LIRG Student prize is
30th May 2003.
